Muscle Dynamometer

Muscle dynamometers measure the strength and power of different muscle groups and joints.

What is a Muscle Dynamometer?

The muscle dynamometer allows for 22 isolated joint movement patterns in four resistance modes (isokinetic, isometric, isotonic, and passive). With joint isolation testing, researchers are able to account for true muscle activation. Concentric and eccentric resistance testing is also available to determine capability of joint movements.

What can I expect during the Muscle Dynamometer test?

Subjects will be strapped into the dynamometer in the appropriate position according to the joint being tested. Depending on the protocol, each test will take about 15-20 minutes.
